Rubix Cuba
Energetic, bright and melodic rock, embedded with a subtle lyrical sarcasm and melancholy, layered with a horn section. Arguably a more "pop" update on Reel Big Fish, Unwritten Law, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and 311. "The Cubans" are fun, photogenic and catchy.
Since forming in November 2001, Rubix Cuba has performed well over 350 shows, including shows alongside Reel Big Fish, The Porkers, Area 7, The Butterfly Effect, 1200 Techniques, Maya Jupiter, After the Fall, The Spazzys, The Testeagles, MXPX (US), Lagwagon (US), Frenzal Rhomb (Aus), The Bronx (US), The Von Bondies (US), Motion City Soundtrack (US), Mad Caddies (US) and the kings of cool, The Royal Crown Revue (US).
The band prides itself on its relentless touring, live show, combining music with raw energy, dancing, lights, themed outfits (usually tailored suits, occasionally pajamas, school uniforms, reindeer suits for Xmas or overalls) and most importantly Cubie, a giant dancing Rubik’s Cube mascot
